Former Nigeria captain, Nwankwo Kanu has urged fans of the Super
Eagles and English Premier League side Arsenal to put the
disappointments of their teams behind them, reports
Completesportsnigeria.com.
Reacting to the Eagles ouster from the 2015 AFCON in Equatorial
Guinea after drawing 2-2 with South Africa last week Wednesday, and the
Gunners 2-1 home loss to Manchester United – which further plummeted the
club’s title chase, Kanu advised that the fans should all learn from
the setbacks.
He wrote on his twitter page: “I thought it was a dream but it’s
real, what happened to Nigeria/Arsenal. I know how you all feel, but
can we pick up and learn from the mistakes?”
The Eagles who needed a win to secure qualification for the 2015 AFCON could only draw against group A winners South Africa.
Arsenal, who Kanu featured for from 1999 to 2004, and won the EPL and
FA Cup with, were defeated by a depleted Manchester United side on
Saturday.
