It was just the latest showcase of the magical Argentinian's talents - and one fan has taken a rather novel approach to show his appreciation.
Taking a flipbook and a selection of felt-tip pens, the Messi fan has pain-stakingly drawn some of the player's greatest moments for both club and country.
The result is a unique labour of love which comes to a climax with perhaps the best Messi goal yet - his Maradona-esque solo run and goal against Getafe in 2007.The 26-year-old has picked up this season where he left off last, by scoring six goals in three La Liga matches.In all competitions, he has an astonishing 319 goals in 384 matches for the club in his 10 season there, not to mention 37 goals in 83 for Argentina.
